2 Jun 09 – Through a process called "sputtering," solar wind particles  crashing into Mercury's surface gouge atoms out of the surface with sufficient energy to launch them into ballistic trajectories.

Magnetic Reversals is utterly brilliant. You have pulled together so many different threads that the jigsaw of trying to understand the human situation feels like it's nearing completion.
