"X-woman" identified as new ancient human

25 Mar 10 - Scientists have identified a previously unknown type of ancient human - distinct from Neanderthals and modern humans - through DNA analysis from a finger bone unearthed in a Siberian cave.

The extinct "hominin" (human-like creature) lived in Central Asia between 48,000 and 30,000 years ago.

Details of the find, dubbed "X-woman", have been published in Nature journal.

Ornaments, including a bracelet, were found in the same layer as the finger bone.

The discovery raises the intriguing possibility that three forms of human - Homo sapiens, Neanderthals and the species represented by X-woman - could have met each other and interacted in southern Siberia.

The distinctiveness of the DNA patterns suggests that there was little or no interbreeding, but for now, the researchers have steered away from classifying X-woman as a new species.

Natura non facit saltum
(Nature does not make leaps.) Charles Darwin's friend Thomas Huxley insisted that nature does take leaps. He was therefore labeled a "saltationist."

Magnetic reversals  -  far more important than we realize

Explains what's behind Velikovsky's work
I just want to add my voice to those of your many other admiring readers.

Magnetic Reversals
is utterly brilliant. You have pulled together so many different threads that the jigsaw of trying to understand the human situation feels like it's nearing completion. Reversals even explains what's behind Velikovsky's work.

P.S. I just ordered more of your books to give to friends and colleagues :-)                                                                         - Prof. Patrick Collins
