New explanation for Tunguska
27 May 09 – Dr. Yuri Labvin, president of the Tunguska Spatial Phenomenon Foundation, insists that a UFO deliberately crashed into a gigantic meteor above Siberia on June 30, 1908, to prevent the meteor from slamming into our planet.
Labvin thinks this would explain the Tunguska event, when a massive blast estimated at 15 megatons felled 80 million trees up to three feet in diameter over an area of nearly 100 square miles.
I don’t agree with this at all, but I find it interesting because I devote an entire chapter in Magnetic Reversals and Evolutionary Leaps to “Tunguska.”
Another chapter is entitled “Hundreds of Thousands of Tunguskas,” because I think our planet will be bombarded by thousands of Tunguska-like explosions during the next magnetic reversal.
Labvin thinks quartz slabs with strange markings found at the site are remnants of an alien control panel, and maintains that the ferrum silicate found at the site, which “can not be produced anywhere, except in space,” is another indication of UFO activity.
